1/2 Packed Stadium

March 2nd, 2010

I guess you could call this a poignant shot. Aston Villa lost…so their side of the stadium is totally empty…Man U won so their side is packed with celebrating fans…interesting perspective

Fans

March 1st, 2010

We have all heard of rowdy football fans in England so I guess it comes as no surprise that there is line of sturdy attendants that separates the two sets of fans.  It is a clear demarcation mark…on the right are Aston Villa fans on the left Man U.  I wonder if they hurl insults at each other across the guards?

Rugby

February 28th, 2010

This is one of those weekends you dream about (If you are a guy- type of thing) International rugby on Saturday at Twickenham and a League Cup Final on Sunday at Wembly. Oh happy day! It is Aston Villa playing Manchester United for the “Carling Cup”…what a game! Fast, skilled and totally entertaining. Man U won 2:1 but I think the referee blew a couple of calls to tell you the truth…but refs never get it right do they?

Heartbreak

February 27th, 2010

It is not to be! Heartbreak! England are beaten and to make matters worse, Ireland were the better side and deserved the win. With the Rugby World Cup just 12 months away England have a task on their hands. The backs were awful and the scrum was not much better! A sad day. I retire to a pub to nurse my wounds.

Swing Low

February 27th, 2010

The spirit of England is strong and “swing low” the fans rubgby anthem is already being hummed in anticipation.

Twinkenham

February 27th, 2010

The day of the game arrives. We trundle along to the home of Rugby— Twinkenham. Our breasts are full of hope that England finally have a back line that will work. We have a great scrum…we need a backline. This day will tell the tale.

Bazza in HEB

December 11th, 2008

Here I am…BAZZA himself, posing right next to my teas.  A consumer did stop by and pick one up as I was standing there…I got out of her way.  She chose the Green Tea…I was very tempted to draw attention to the fact that I was on the bottle but she had a trolley full of stuff and a glint in her eye and it was clearl that she was on a mission to complete the shopping regime.  Maybe she needed the surge of energy that BAZZA provides to finish the task?

HEB Chain

December 11th, 2008

Next stop TEXAS! My BAZZA teas are sold in the HEB chain and they are selling well!  I did what is called a “store check” to see how they were positioned, what shelf level they were on (That’s important as too high is difficult to reach and too low is difficult to see)  I found my teas at eye level which is the premium position. To make matters even better they had the BAZZA box right on the top shelf so we get a double whammy of exposure.

Sitting with Royalty

October 20th, 2007

Talk about great seats!!!  We were about 15 feet away from Prince William and Prince Harry.  We had a stellar view of the game and he Princes.. just outstanding! Here they are waiting for the final game of the Rugby Wolrd Cup 2007 to start.  It is a magnificent stadium.the only problem with the evening was that the French Transportation Union chose this time to hold a strike, so the Metro was not working and getting a taxi was murderous!   Helluva time to hold a strike…great timing for the Union workers, lousy for the 80,000 fans who showed up to see the game.  It took us 2 hours to get to the game ..but it was worth it.

The world of Rugby is Upside Down

October 14th, 2007

England won! They beat the French. This is amazing. The Springboks beat the Pumas in the other Rugby World Cup semi-final so South Africa will meet England in the final.

What started out as a enjoyable business trip with a World Cup at the end of it has suddenly turned into something much greater. The chance to watch England defend their world title in Paris.  Life is good!!
