Well we finally get to see the tree. I has become an annual event, a lot like the Tea Association dinner! This year it all seemed a bit more subdued…probably the economy? Here is the classic photo mistake…a tree growing out of Sandy’s head….

A Farewell Dinner

A farewell event of a long standing member of the Tea Trade who is retiring.

It is held at another Club..one with more money then mine…(it fits the “luxurious” role)…great food, good wine, a very good port and a very good time was had by all. I was asked to speak and say a few works and unfortunately I took it to be a “roast” as against a “farewell”! I will try not to make THAT mistake again….

The GREAT thing about annual events is that you get see folks that you don’t see for most of the year. When they are as good looking and memorable as Sharon was and is it is ALWAYS a pleasure….more so than others…

51st Street

We stay at our favorite place in New York…My Club. It suffers from being a Cub, which are never the most luxurious of places…(unless it is a very rich club, and there are a few of those around) but it does have the benefit of a glorious address. It is right next to Rockefeller Center. It is in the heart of Christmas land..that is New York in December! Here is a view right down 51st street..

To the right is the RKO theater with the “Rockettes”..and to the left is the entrance to Rockefeller center where the Christmas tree Lords it over everything….but what’s that group of animals down there as well..?

Camels! What these malcontent animals are doing in the heart of NYC on a freezing cold day is beyond me…..unless of course, three kings came a ‘calling…but that would be a bit much…even for NY.

A New JFK

We leave the warmth of Florida behind and head up to the cold of New York City. I used to dislike flying into JFK..it was always crowded, old and inefficient. Not so now…the airport has been upgraded and modernized and it is startling clean and efficient. In other words a great place to fly into and out of……Of course, what welcomes you when you exit the plane is a New York Bar…but maybe that’s what should welcome one….?

Christmas List

The magic month of Christmas is upon us. When you are young (lets say 10

years and below) this is the time to get your list so “gotta haves!!!!”

lined up. No point in being shy…you just have to let Santa know what is required to come down the chimney with his goodies. This is list drawn up by one of my nieces….not a shy person…very much aware of what is needed in the Xmas sack…….A LOT OF STUFF
