Bryanstone Country Club
November 23rd, 2006You know enough of me now to realize that a golf course is somewhere in my sights. My sister plays golf so we played at the Bryanstone Country Club….friends gave the balloons…..she gave me a hiding…she is a better golfer than me. Of course I claim that I have jet lag and that when we were actually playing it was 2 a.m. in the morning for my body time. I don’t think anyone bought the argument.

November 22nd, 2006
I am on my way back to Africa. The new long range planes have cut the trip time down to 15 hours 30 minutes from the old 18 plus hours because you no longer have to refuel at Isle de Sol. Long flight whichever way you look at it! I am travelling to South Africa, Johannesburg to be precise. 15 hours and 34 minutes in the air non-stop. A meal, a movie, a sleep and you’re there.
Dulles Airport
November 22nd, 2006Anyone who knows airports will know this is Dulles. The most ridiculous airport ever designed. It uses these vehicles to transport passengers between terminals and planes. The machines have pneumatic lifts that raise and lower them. They must be a maintenance nightmare and each vehicle requires a driver who zooms around the airplanes with his loads. Insane! Only Washington D.C. could have come up with such a ridiculous concept.
Anyway, enough of my rant, I am here to leave for Africa!

November 18th, 2006Art Museum
November 17th, 2006This amazing building is the Milwaukee Art Museum, the first Santiago Calatrava-designed building in the United States…. It features a 90-foot high glass-walled reception hall enclosed by the Burke Brise Soleil, a sunscreen that can be raised or lowered creating a unique moving sculpture.
It is one of the most extroadanary designs I have ever seen. Lewis and Greg showed it to us at nighttime and I could see it was something special so on the way to the airport I stopped off to have a look…it was worth it.
