Baby Tea Bottle

March 30th, 2008

You May have to look closely at this photo to figure out what it is.  It is a shot of a baby bottle full of brewed tea being chug a’ lugged by a grandson.  Start them early I say!  Little Barry loves his tea in the morning …just like his Granddad!

Seedlings

March 28th, 2008

More patterns.  These are not quite as clear as the rest.  The farmers have left wind breaks of grass to protect the young seedlings..if you click on the photo to enlarge it you can see the weathered grass clearly.

Artful Farmers

March 28th, 2008

How artful does a farmer have to be to carve such a precise, fluid furrow?

And at an angle as well…..

Springtime in the Rockies

March 27th, 2008

Springtime in the Rockies, or at least, springtime in the foothills to the Rockies.  It is a mass of young seedlings all pushing their way up to the sun and creating the most wonderful patterns.  I thought of these shots as the “patterns of spring time” and stopped to take shots whenever I saw nature at work, creating art forms.

Vail Clouds

March 23rd, 2008

I took this from my deck.  It is rare that the clouds come down into valley. Normally they soar overhead.  But this has not been a normal year!

Avalanches

March 22nd, 2008

Avalanches have been one of the big problems this year and you can see why!

Vail Snow

March 22nd, 2008

Vail in the midst of one of its best snow winters ever. I mean the white stuff was everywhere…just take a look.

Oil Change

March 20th, 2008

Good Friday is this week and the family is heading up to Vail for a couple of days.  My car needs an oil change etc. before making the trip.  Do you remember the days when an oil change was a big deal?  You had to take your car to a garage, leave it for the morning or even the day and pick it up in the evening.  Not anymore.  Now you have these quick stop service centers that change your oil, check every aspect of your car, brakes, steering, transmission etc all the fluids, then they check your tires, vacuum the car and hand it back within 15 minutes.  Life is moving at warp speed.

A Change in Weather

March 19th, 2008

OK..here is the great thing about living in Colorado!  One day later all the snow has vanished!  Of course the mountains have their accumulation of the white stuff so we get a scenic backdrop, but as far as the flatlands and this one steer is concerned..yesterday never happened.

St. Patrick’s Day Snow

March 18th, 2008

St. Patrick’s Day was 70F.  Gorgeous!  I even thought about a quick early morning round of golf. Monday being a great day to play golf…Then today dawned and Colorado had struck again!  4-5 inches of “partly cloudy had descended upon us during the night.  No golf today, that’s for sure.
