Days in Colorado

May 31st, 2009

These can be cold days in Colorado or they can be blazing hot days.  The weather is totally unpredictable.  But every now and then in May, you wake up and the sky is blue, the Continental divide is covered with snow, the grass is green, the air is crisp and all is right with the world.  Today was such a day. I share it with you….

First Day of School

May 29th, 2009

The first day of “school” is a major event in everybody’s life. This is my grandsons first day. He is three and half years old and he is very excited about going to school. His mother took him to the classroom last week and he didn’t want to leave he was having so much fun.  He has his bag with his “stuff” his hair is combed, teeth brushed, he is READY!

Memorial Day

May 25th, 2009

Memorial Day

Nothing can be added to this ……..For at the rising and the setting of the sun, we shall remember them.

Lest We Forget

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved and were loved, and now we lie

In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.

Golf Range

May 23rd, 2009

Another example of interesting things not highlighted during my recent overseas trip is this extraordinary concept.  In the MIDDLE of Hong Kong, in what must be some of the most valuable real estate in the world is a golf course!  It is not an 18 hole course, it is a very large practice range.  I found it amazing that such a facility would be built in the middle of HK?  I mean why would you practice a game that you cannot really play for real (There are not than many 18 hole golf courses in the area) It is these curious oddities that fascinate me….I wish I knew the whys and wherefores….

Bruce Lee

May 22nd, 2009

In looking back over the past few months it occurred to me that I really do travel a lot.  So much so that I sometimes just overlook interesting events and items simply through the rush of time.  Here is a perfect example.  It is a picture I took of Bruce Lee in Hong Kong last month.  It is a statue that is on the boardwalk looking across towards HK island.  Of all the many icons that could be placed on the boardwalk, I found it interesting that Bruce Lee would be among those chosen. I mean…why Bruce?  Clearly he had an impact in the mind of the authority chosen to make the choice of who got a statue on the boardwalk!

Local 7-11

May 20th, 2009

Now back in Denver I stop by a local 7-11 and meet these two charmers! I promised these two ladies would appear in my blog and here you are ladies…my promise is kept!  Just over my right shoulder you can see the fountain dispenser for Coopers Iced Brew Tea.  I was told it sold REALLY well….always good to hear that news.  Now what we pray for is a long hot summer!!

NRA

May 18th, 2009

Here I am working with Cecelia the Vice President of Sales for Cooper Tea Company.  Behind is our new booth which attracted a lot of attention.  As I reported it was a good show for us.  We had new products on display and they generated a lot of interest and the sales team has a lot of follow up to do….that’s what makes this NRA show such a good one to attend…the heavy hitters get to see what you are offering and what is the latest and greatest tea….
