This is one of those weekends you dream about (If you are a guy- type of thing) International rugby on Saturday at Twickenham and a League Cup Final on Sunday at Wembly. Oh happy day! It is Aston Villa playing Manchester United for the “Carling Cup”…what a game! Fast, skilled and totally entertaining. Man U won 2:1 but I think the referee blew a couple of calls to tell you the truth…but refs never get it right do they?

It is not to be! Heartbreak! England are beaten and to make matters worse, Ireland were the better side and deserved the win. With the Rugby World Cup just 12 months away England have a task on their hands. The backs were awful and the scrum was not much better! A sad day. I retire to a pub to nurse my wounds.

The day of the game arrives. We trundle along to the home of Rugby— Twinkenham. Our breasts are full of hope that England finally have a back line that will work. We have a great scrum…we need a backline. This day will tell the tale.

A mobile espresso van. Now that is an interesting business concept. Go where Starbucks isn’t (That might be a problem as they seem to be everywhere) but the idea is intriguing. You can literally chase the crowds. The opposite of drawing business to you…you chase the business.

The American Embassy that in the good old days you could walk up to and get a visa. Now it is surrounded by steel fences, Heavy cast iron tank traps (at least, that is what they look like) and guard posts. Right in front of this building stands IKE. I wonder what he would have made of this state of affairs…?

Paddington station! A 1950’s work of art modernized to the point where a picture like this should really be absorbed. It is a combination of Funky, yet modern, Fun, yet deadly serious. How life should be….(I guess)

I arrive in London to more inspirational thoughts. They(BA) have this concept down…understand your customer and you have a viable business…..their seats go flat! They certainly understand me and my needs!

I take off for my birth land. England is playing Ireland at rugby and I have an Irish Grandmother and English mother…talk about conflict! But then again…lets not. As I arrive at the plane I notice all the inspirational sayings splattered about the place. Do they work? I hope so! They have real meaning if we pause for just a second to consider their content….

I triumph! The battle is done, the tree has gone to log heaven. All that is left is this huge root but we shall tackle him at some future date. The Palm trees now have unrestricted access to the sun and we have an unfettered view to the sea….
